William Bailey
William was panting with the effort as he dropped the bulky object in his arms to the ground. Wiping the sweat from his face, he pretty much colapsed, his back resting against the objects he had spent about a week searching for and looting from the city, and another two days dragging them all the way to the edge of what was left of the bridge.
"well." William muttered to himself after a good five minutes rest. "I'm finally finished." He continued climbing to his feet as he looked around at the view. The sunset was kind of beauitiful, even if it was making the ruined city look red for a moment. Will was so sick of red, even if it was starting to dry and become brown by now.
The portable generator had been the hardest thing to find, Will had sent ages roming supermarkets and anything else that might sell a way to produce electricity. Besides, it wasn't like it was hard to find petrol now was it? the amount of bloody cars everywhere.
Will sniggered slightly, this was America they didn't call it petrol, they called it gas. even if it was a liquid, something Will didn't pretend to understand.
William knew how bad this idea was, there could be wild animals, gangs of thugs, psychopaths...... he couldn't bring himself to care. he needed company so badly he wouldn't mind a canibal red neck like the ones from "the hills have eyes" showing up. Will would happily offer him a beer and offer to discus whatever it was they talked about.
Laughing Will turned the generator on, the whirring hum and rattle somewhat comforting as he plugged the amp into the system.
He'd always loved music. It had been his faveorite thing in the world for most his life, and the fact he had a generator meant that soon he'd be able to get a CD player working. This alone meant he was happier then he'd been in months. but that was for later. now......
Will swung his legs off the bridge, sitting on the very edge overlooking what would be a very deadly drop, Will tuned his gutair and then coughed into his michrophone. "testing testing. 123. Alrighty then, we have power." William paused. having no idea what to say to a dead, silent city. "If you can hear this. please let me know." He said simply before starting to play. His singing voice was terrible and he knew it, but he wasn't doing this for entertainment.
"Summer don't know me no more Eager man, that's all
Summer don't know me He just let me love in my sea Cause I do know, Lord, from you that Just died, yeah
I saw that day, lost my mind Lord, I'll find, maybe in time You'll want to be mine"
